Dental Appointment

Today I took Worthy to the dentist for the first time. Honestly I was quite nervous, because in the past he exhibited that he sometimes has "tactile" issues... meaning he hates to have his pediatrician look into his ears, etc. I was anticipating the whole event going something like this scene from Little Shop of Horrors. HOWEVER, it was amazing. We went to see Dr. Ronzanski in Ocala (on a great recommendation from a friend) and I was blown away with their kid-friendly office and staff. In no time, Worthy was hopping into the dentist chair and excited about getting X-rays done. And best of all... No cavities :) We had a great afternoon and celebrated with lunch at Chick-fil-A! God is so good - even in the seemingly small things!

Downtown Disney

Yes, I've lived in Florida for 4 years (with children) and never been to Downtown Disney. So, it was a great excuse to go when Char & Holden visited.
The long ride to Orlando...

Our first stop was the Lego store. They had amazing lego sculptures - one of which
was this T-rex.
They also have a great area where kids can build Lego cars and then race them.
and of course... they have a store...
It was a HOT day, but all-in-all quite a fun trip :)

Baby Drama

Twice in the last 2 weeks we had a bit of a scare. I had some very lite spotting and was a bit concerned. I ended up going in for an ultrasound and we got some very comforting answers. Basically, it wasn't anything to be alarmed about. It was all very much in the category of "normal" which was very good to hear. There's a tiny, tiny "scar" that they're going to keep an eye on, but anticipate it healing in the next 2-3 weeks. Otherwise, everything looks great. It was amazing to see the baby kicking "his" little feet and punching "his" little arms already at 11 weeks. It's AMAZING to me to actually see the beauty of creation. I was really overwhelmed.

Heavy Sleeper

Charlotte and Holden have been visiting this week and we ended up switching up beds a couple nights with the kiddos. Holden and Worthy decided they wanted to try to stay in the same room one night. Well that ended up not working out so well and we put Worthy in our bed to fall asleep (then we'd move him back to his room later). I was ready to go to bed and I was pretty sure that Worthy was asleep so I asked Dan to go in and move him to his own bed. Dan proceeded to walk in and could NOT find him. He checked the closet, the floor. We all ended up searching the other rooms to see if he "slipped" out without us noticing. After 3-4 minutes of nervous searching, I checked UNDER our bed and found him there - sound asleep.

Holden & Worthy

Right now, we're SO blessed to have Charlotte (my brother's wife) and Holden visiting! Worthy has been in playmate heaven. God couldn't have orchestrated their visit any more perfect. Charlotte's assistance has been invaluable the last couple days - we're so GRATEFUL to be surrounded by such great family. We really are blessed. Here are some fun pics so far...

Eating Lunch is funner

Painting together

Pool mohawks... Worthy is follicley challenged

And then of course Will is enjoying the additional entertainment...

Beilman Cousins visit

Last weekend, Dan's brother, sister-in-law and their three kids came down to visit. It was WONDERFUL to spend some time together, especially in the pool! Worthy and Jack had a great time jumping in and splashing. However, the biggest surprise was 2-year old Charlotte. She wanted to be swimming like a fish. It was really cute to see her so eager to dive in. We had a great time and all the kids were exhausted by the end of the day!

Will - happily floating around

Summer Reading

This summer Dan has started reading The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe to Worthy. He has really enjoyed it so far, but he's very eager to get to the chapter called Peter's First Battle ("on page 119" he says...). So he's been skipping ahead and reading it on his own.

Cravings...

So, I'm officially 10 weeks pregnant now and I've gone through some cravings. Thought it might be funny to consolidate them:
  • Fruit - mostly pineapple
  • Red jello
  • Dairy Queen chocolate ice cream cone
  • Steak
  • For the most part I want nothing to do with chocolate, but I saw a Snickers bar today and literally drooled
  • Toast
  • Pink grapefruit juice
  • Popsicles - the "all fruit" kind
  • Tomatoes
Gotta run and grab some lunch now....

Swim Lessons

Last year Worthy took Swim Lessons with Miss Maryanne. He learned SO much that we decided to do them again this year. He just had his last lesson today. During the course of the week, he’s learned to go off the diving board, dive for rings underwater, swim on his back and flip over onto his stomach. It’s really helped build his confidence and we were AMAZED at the progress. She really is the Swimmer Whisperer.

Wet Field Day

On Wednesday, Worthy had his last day of preschool. In celebration, the kids got to have a Wet Field Day. There was a slip-n-slide, water guns, shaving cream, sprinklers and just a lot of water everywhere. Will enjoyed the afternoon too.

School Bday

This week Worthy celebrated his 5th birthday at school. (He doesn't turn 5 until July, but they celebrated all the summer birthdays together). They got to have ice cream, cupcakes and lemonade... needless to say, he didn't have much of an appetite for lunch later.

He also got to pick a gift out of the Gift Box and he was very excited to get the Hot Wheels car.
