Bday Celebration

Yesterday Worthy got to celebrate his birthday at school with all his friends. I think it left him slightly confused because his actual birthday isn't until July - hehe. He & his friend, Iain, had a joint bday time - enjoying cupcakes and juice boxes. Worthy also got to pick his favorite "helper" job - which is Door Holder... what a gentleman. Whenever he is selected for Door Holder, I hear about it the rest of the day. Otherwise, the extent of his conversation about school is limited to "fine" or "good" or "we did a craft" - a Junior Higher already.

They also had a little song time afterwards to burn off the cupcakes & juice. This is a short clip of eleven 4 year-olds jumping around like frogs.

What Once Was Lost

So today while Worthy & I cleaned his room, we came across some old friends that he'd misplaced a couple weeks ago - Edward & Henry. I can't tell you how delighted I am in this reunion. He's been rather distraught over their disappearance. The boy is attached to his trains. He can now resume his favorite activity - lining the trains up according to their numerical number. He loves order.

Trip to Ohio

Holden, Worthy, Sam, Henry & Will - 5 Crazy Boys

We had a fantastic time in Ohio visiting with G, Grampy, Chris, Char & the "Crazy Boys". I was a little apprehensive about the plane trip up, but to my delightful surprise, it went really smooth. During our visit, we enjoyed Pav's ice cream and a trip to Swenson's. Best of all was hanging with the family... God is so generous to us!

Fishing with Pa-pa

On Mother's Day we went down to visit Dan's parents in Lake Wales, FL. We had a quick, but fun trip. Worthy went fishing with Dan & Pa-pa. From each account a wonderful time was had by all.

W's Spring Program

Here are some pics/movie of Worthy's Spring Musical. It was really cute (and quick!). We had a fun time watching most of the squirming kids. I didn't notice any stage fright.

And a picture of us all afterwards:

Well, today we had a momentous event. Worthy got his very first haircut. Yes, he is almost 4 years old - hehe. He was practically bald for the longest time and just in the last year or so, started growing some hair. We're up in Ohio visiting G & Grampy and G was able to do the honors of the first haircut. Unfortunately, Worthy was a bit apprehensive about this new experience. I resorted to bribing and the "bribe of choice" was a Canada Dry. We have a little baggie that contains the hair that was cut, which really doesn't amount to more than a pinch of hairs :) I imagine that we won't have to wait 4 years for his next haircut. Pictures to come when I get home...

Brett's Bday

Today we went to Brett's birthday party. Worthy had a wonderful time. We had cupcakes, opened presents - regular birthday party stuff. W has fun playing "pretend" birthday with me, so going to a legit party was super fun. And to top it all off - the party was train-themed :)

Too tuckered to eat

So looks like we had an extra-tiring day today. Worthy fell asleep during dinner...

Ice Cream @ DQ

Worthy & I went out for ice cream and had a lovely time together sans Will. He loves vanilla and is rather meticulous eater... if only that translated to other foods :)

Cellulitis = No fun

So I was in the hospital for 3 days last week with Cellulitis. The whole episode was unpleasant and a bit scary. There's a lot that could be said about my stint there, but the thing that impacted me the most was my sadness for people that don't have health insurance. I can't imagine going through something like this and my first thought being "how am I going to pay for this?". I was free of that burden and was still anxious and restless while there. No one should have to be inhibited to pursue legitimate medical claims due to finances.

Well, I'm virtually all better now. The pain is all gone and the redness is non-existent. I have a little peeling on my face, but aside from that I feel wonderful. I feel blessed to have wonderful family and friends that stood in the gap while I was away to help take care of the boys and cook meals. It's great to be part of a community!
